FML volunteers contribute to new community woodland

At Spring Gardens, a patch of land alongside the freight rail line that used to be known as the “pony field” for many years, has recently been turned into a new woodland for the community. Called Moko Woodland, in memory of local woman Moko Sellars, and led by Frome Town Council, who have a 99-year lease on the land, the project involved many local community groups and Frome’s Missing Links’s volunteers have contributed several days of work.

Most recently, they have re-built a section of dry stone wall and put in new, bigger gates, to provide more accessible access to the woodland.

There’s a lovely film by the Frome Town Council rangers that explains what has gone into creating the woodland that can be seen here on the FTC YouTube channel.
