The Spring flowers have long gone at Great Elm on the Collier’s Way. They are being replaced by very long grass but flowers can still be found in their midst.  Also, there is a touch of autumn to note in the berries on the Guelders-rose.  This summer is all about naming plants but butterflies are prone to land on them and get into the pictures as well.

The flowers recorded include Bird Vetch, Bedstraw, Guelders-rose (berries), Moth Mullein, Rosebay Willow Herb, Rose Champion. Butterflies include Ringlet (artists impression), small tortoiseshell and Gatekeeper.

There’s a selection of photos below – the locations are mainly at Great Elm and the Dippy.
